“The Veteran Building Company Earns Best Property Maintenance company 2023 in South Wales

Introduction:

In a very humbling recognition of our teams efforts, The Veteran Building Company has recently been honoured with a prestigious award for its outstanding contributions to the construction industry. This well-deserved recognition underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to excellence in the construction services we deliver across South Wales, including Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, Swansea and the associated areas.

Veteran-Led Excellence

One of the unique aspects of The Veteran Building Company is its commitment to being a veteran-led and operated organisation. This is for a number of reasons, that both benefit the veteran community with stable, well paid jobs post service. But also recognises the skillset, adaptability and desire for quality that former military servicemen and women give to any employer across the UK. In having a team whose core lives have been spent delivering high standards, working to specifications and rules and ensuring honesty and ethics are at the forefront of their mind – our delivery of any job whether small or large is always to a consistently high level of quality and reliability.

Award-Winning Projects

The award comes on the heels of The Veteran Building Company winning the award for the Best Veteran owned business in Wales, which highlighted the high quality of veteran entrepreneurs across the whole of business. We have been very fortunate to be involved in projects with domestic, charity, housing association and business clients all of whom we have been able to add value and impart our technical and real world expertise to their works – whether a one off project or ongoing routine maintenance.

Great Feedback

At the heart of The Veteran Building Company’s success lies a recognition of the needs of our customers, whether that be a domestic customer looking for a high quality and tidy, well run installation of a kitchen or bathroom, down to reliable timing for a small job such as hanging a shelf. Or on the other side, contract maintenance whereby our teams arrive on time, smartly dressed and treat tenants / businesses with respect and fix their items in a highly professional and clean way. Our feedback is public, well received and to this date very positive.

Sustainability

In an era where sustainable practices are rightly on the minds of our country, construction is lagging behind. We presently operate a fleet of newish diesel vans, which are as clean as in internal combustion engine will be. However we’ve already planned for our new fleet to transition to CO2 neutral, whether that be electric or hydrogen in the near future. At present we offset all our CO2 produced in our monthly operations with Carma and The Green Task Force whom through planting trees help to offset CO2 production and buy time for us to all fix the climate emergency.

Damaging the planet in the interest of pure profit is not something we will engage in as a business.

Our sister company – The Veteran Energy Company is actively involved in damp and defect surveying, which is the main cause of heat loss in properties causing an increase in heating emissions. It also works alongside expert veteran companies to install solar, wind and renewable generation as well as electrical heating and heat pumps – delivering real world CO2 and financial savings for homes and businesses across our area.

Innovation

Innovation can be a dirty word in our industry, but we are blending modern techniques with a return to older ways. Whether it is the use of our HD camera fitted drones allowing us to rapidly survey and assess damage or our use of thermal imaging to locate heat loss on surveys. This technology, combined with training and experience allows our teams to then accurately recommend solutions appropriate for the property that result in permanent fixed to problems.

As veterans, we are innovative by nature and very few projects go to plan. Working around the challenges is something we have become very experienced in.

Community Impact

Beyond bricks and mortar, The Veteran Building Company understands the importance of community impact. The award recognizes their involvement in community projects and initiatives, showcasing a commitment to making a positive difference beyond their construction sites. We utilise our skillset, teams and influence in our area to deliver positive change within our area for the veteran community as a whole. In particular supporting the work of The Royal British Legion, Walking with the Wounded and Help for Heroes, as well as local initiatives such as RV32 Veterans allotments in Bridgend.

Future

With this recent accolade, The Veteran Building Company is poised for even greater success in the future. The award serves as a springboard for continued growth, inspiring us to reach new heights of innovation, excellence, and client satisfaction. We intend to expand our organic team, solidify and grow our veteran / local Welsh supplier base and continue to deliver excellent service to our community and customers.
